Once in the water, it seemed invisible, justifying its name in our tests. Another nice feature is its impressive sensitivity. It allowed us to detect even the smallest bite and set the hook when the fish grabbed the bait. It also has a relatively low memory for fluorocarbon line, which is an advantage when casting, and a unique ability to sink faster than other lines, which we appreciated when trying to cast the bait close to where the fish had just jumped.
The only real complaint about this line is its casting range. While it outperforms many of the monofilament lines we tested, it could not match the braided lines in our tests. Overall, if you want an almost invisible line with excellent sensitivity and durability, Berkley Vanish is for you.
